Motorcycle Ride to Hennessey's Dana Point
|

posted: Monday, December 28, 2009
The club did a ride last Saturday to Dana Point and stopped at Hennessey's Tavern.
The day started out rather chilly, but become more tolerable by the coast in Dana Point. Hennessey's had firepits outside warming up the tents. We all had lunch there, warming up over corned beef and cabbage.
Afterwards, headed up the coast to Laguna Canyon, and then up to Cook's Corner. But we didn't stop there, instead rode through Live Oak Canyon, and stopped at Backstreet Brewery in Ladera Ranch for some better beer.
We took Ortega Highway back home.
Nine riders altogether.

The club took a ride out to Carlsbad last Saturday, December 19. We took some back roads leaving Temecula, through Rice Canyon, and then Highway 76 to Cole Grade Road, down past Lake Wohlford, and then cut across Escondido to Harmony Grove and Elfin Forest, until hitting the coast up to Carlsbad.
We had lunch at the Harbor Fish Cafe for some fish-n-chips, and then took Highway 76 to Fallbrook by way of Olive Hill Rd, and Live Oak Canyon. Then went our separate ways back home.

The club took a ride to the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach last Saturday. Ten bikes left the staging point in Menifee and rode over Ortega Highway and then took freeways into Long Beach.
The show was considerably smaller this year than previous years, and on the ride back home the rain was just starting to fall.

Last Motorcycle Ride to Idyllwild
|
|
posted: Tuesday, December 01, 2009
The club did a ride to Idyllwild last Friday. A group of six bikes started out in Temecula, and took Sage Rd into Hemet, and then Hwy 74 to Hwy 243.
Once onthe 243, they rode north to Lake Fulmor for a break. Then they turned around and headed into Idyllwild for lunch at The Lumbermill.
After lunch, they headed south on Hwy 243, and then east on Hwy 74, and then south on Hwy 371. They took some side routes along Wilson Valley Rd, and East Benton Rd, before making it back into Temecula. The finished the day at one of the member's homes with some beer and chow.
It was dubbed the "the last ride to Idyllwild" because the very next day it snowed in Idyllwild, and likely it will be until after the roads are cleared that we'll be back up there.

| About Us |
|
The HeatWave Riding Club is a motorcycle riding club whose members call Southern California their home. We're not a motorcycle club, but a riding club focused on the enjoyment of riding motorcycles and the continued improvement of riding skills and techniques.
Our goal is to promote the pasttime of motorcycle riding, racking up lots of miles, seeing lots of countryside, and getting the most out of the enjoyment of riding.
If anything makes the HeatWave different from other riding clubs is that we try to put more emphasis on the "club" aspect of being a riding club. We're all about the riding, but limit our membership to those who see eye to eye with our unique philosophy of motorcycle riding.
If you're a rider that just loves to ride, and ride, and ride... and you'd like to share that passion with others, hook up with us and see if our group is what you're looking for.
