The club did a ride along Pine Creek Rd, starting from Pine Valley, up to Sunrise Hwy, along Mt Laguna, Saturday, August 15.

The route left from the Shell station in Temecula, east along Hwy 79, and then Hwy 78. We took Engineers Rd down into Lake Cuyamaca, and then back on Hwy 79 into Pine Valley for lunch at Major's Coffee Shop.

After lunch, we rode up Pine Creek Rd and encountered some very narrow pavement, with lots of bumps, sand, tight turns, and steep elevation gains. But it offered some great scenery, and a lot of quiet.

Once we hooked up with Sunrise Hwy, we followed it south, and kept going south into Campo, where we headed west on Hwy 94, and stopped at Barrett Junction for some beer. Afterwards, we continued west into San Diego, and took freeways home for our final stop at Barley & Hops in Temecula.

All in all, 230 miles from staging to the end.

About Us

The HeatWave Riding Club is a motorcycle riding club whose members call Southern California their home. We're not a motorcycle club, but a riding club focused on the enjoyment of riding motorcycles and the continued improvement of riding skills and techniques.

Our goal is to promote the pasttime of motorcycle riding, racking up lots of miles, seeing lots of countryside, and getting the most out of the enjoyment of riding.

If anything makes the HeatWave different from other riding clubs is that we try to put more emphasis on the "club" aspect of being a riding club. We're all about the riding, but limit our membership to those who see eye to eye with our unique philosophy of motorcycle riding.

If you're a rider that just loves to ride, and ride, and ride... and you'd like to share that passion with others, hook up with us and see if our group is what you're looking for.
